DLS has nine surveyors who are certified by the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) as Certificated Marine Surveyors (CMS). This means that they have at least five years of marine survey experience or have completed 350 surveys, and have passed a rigorous technical exam. Two others are Associate Members working towards their certification. DLS is the company with the largest assemblage of NAMS-CMS surveyors on the continent.
There are also five surveyors who are also Accredited Senior Appraisers (ASA) in Commercial Marine Equipment. Captain Strouse is also accredited in Yachts. This accreditation is by the American Society of Appraisers and comes after five years of appraisal experience and an ethical and technical examination. Norm Dufour and Norm Laskay have also been accredited as Member-Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) a widely recognized international, multi-discipline appraisal organization.
The Cargo group has three surveyors who have attained a Lloyd’s Level 2 Certificate of Cargo Surveying Proficiency and six others who have passed the Level 1 examination.
